Today the blessing of the scarves, gloves, and hats took place at St. James Catholic Church. These are made by the Knitting/Crochet group, parishoners, and friends. The Bus Stop Ministry will hand these out along with snacks and drinks at 39th and Troost. This feels my heart with joy!

This is a very welcoming parish. It is a vibrant and inclusive community. From my first visit I felt like they really wanted me there. People took time to get to know me and learned my name. It is why I decided to continue through their RCIA program there and be confirmed in the Catholic faith. The parish people were genuine and offered an open dialogue and opportunities for parishioners to get involved. It has a lot of character. People sing. People share stories of the faith over lunch in the basement. Don't come if you do not like to be engaged. Stay away if you do not want to meet anyone new. Certainly do not show up unless you are interested in experiencing the joy of the gospel. :)
