The sea life exhibit was fun. It's not huge, but our 2 year old had a blast. The ginger bread village was also fun for the toddler. The play area outside is fun and nostalgic - wish it hadn't been so frigid when we went!
Crown Center sent me an email regarding my concerns. They informed me they have a family room downstairs In that corner by the theatre and escalators for everyone to use. It has changing tables, couches,ECT. So I'm updating my review.
Crown Center itself is good, has lots of neat stores. The food is a little pricey. But where I have an issue. For a place that tries to cater to families & has some great events & activities for kids. I was disheartened to find they had no changing table in the men's room. Leaving me with the option to change her on the bathroom floor (which is gross & unsanitary) or in the hallway which is hard on back & knees. Another dad with me had to change his kid in a booth in a restaurant (which isn't very pleasant for people eating) or easy to do. It's an easy fix. But for know I won't go if I have a child in diapers.
Overall it was pretty fun, but the food experience was disappointing.
This was a modern and clean shopping mall. I was a bit surprised how empty it was on a Wednesday afternoon. They had interesting store, my favorite was the chocolate factory where you can watch them make fudge. The entrance area has ample of natural light and is nice for having a coffee or tea from the coffee shop on the ground floor.
Love Crown Center! So many fun things to do. And so beautiful during the holidays. Unique shops. Crayola and toy store can keep kids of all ages busy. Variety of eateries to please all tastes. Always busy but totally worth it. Definitely a place to see in Kansas City.
I love Christmas time at Crown Center. I have been coming here since I was a child and now me and my husband come here with our family. It's a magical experience. We always have dinner at one of the restaurants and ride the elevator in the hotel. They also make a wish in the well and then take pics at the BIG Christmas tree next to it. I have pics from the last 11+ years at this tree. Then we take them out to the mayors Christmas tree and let them play. I love the fountains that play to the Christmas music. If you go I would recommend that you go during the week because weekends here are a little crazy.
Fritz's is always so crowded it's impossible to get in. Crayola cafe had a 30 minute wait with only one group in front of us, and several empty tables. We ate at the Philly/Greek/American place by the coterie theater. The American food was fine, the gyro was basically a polish dog sliced up in a pita. Don't bother with the baklava.
