Another great family destination in KC area. Wonderful theater and Science City are great year round attractions. Once Christmas season arrives, Union Station comes alive even more so with the model train exhibition and wonderful indoor Christmas tree and lighting.

This is a huge piece for Kansas City history, if you are traveling through, or just wanting a fun place to walk around and explore, I highly recommend Union Station. My husband and I had some of our first dates up at the station, and there is just something incredibly amazing about looking up and seeing all of the magnificent architecture. This is a must see place in the Winter season. They always have something interesting going on !!

Its amazing and the links to the shopping malls n hotels. Amazing

Such a wonderful window into history. Take your time to walk around and explore. Be sure to visit the model train exhibit and take a walk on the bridge overlooking the tracks.

I'm from St. Louis, but I'm glad I got a chance to see Union Station Kansas city. St. Louis has it's own Union Station, but the way KC has made use of it is a bit different. STL union station is now a mall with more restaurants, while Kansas City has more government stuff like the Post office. KC Union station also still has an transportation element as they also have the Amtrak there too. STL Union station is I believe also has it as a hotel. I have no idea why KC's different attractions look more appealing, but maybe the grass just always looks greener to human beings.
