Friendly staff and clean. A yearly pass is the best way to go, and make sure you upgrade to the unlimited rides (train, tram, sky tram, boat, carousel). The zoo is spread out, so expect to walk a lot. Definitely bring a stroller for younger kids. The penguin house is great to escape the heat in the summer. The food options aren't the best, so we usually bring sack lunches. The new Billy Goats Gruff area is nice. It's right next to the playground.
I️ went today with my boys and it was a perfect day! The animals were active and no crowds at all! My son had a one on one chat with several zookeepers and he got to feed the sea lions during the show. It was the best! We’ve been many times but today was one of the best! The zoo staff was very helpful and friendly and knowledgeable , the grounds beautiful, and plenty of animals out and about.
Always a great time at this zoo and they're always improving and expanding. On this last visit we watched the penguins march outside around their habitat and construction on the new touch tank building is underway.
Mama of 3. Season pass holder. We go year round so buying passes every year only makes sense. If you plan to visit more than once for sure get passes-worth it. Food is okay. We usually pack a lunch or eat before. Recommend that you do too. Food is overpriced. Bring your own water/drinks for sure .We love the penguin exhibit. Very clean and entertaining. Also always love the polar bear exhibit too. I think they do a great job of keeping park and animal areas clean. The midways are always clear of trash. The grounds look beautiful on daily basis. Normally the animals are active and my kids just love seeing them. I really enjoy having the tram. We usually walk as far as we want then take it back. For sure worth it to get the unlimited rides deal. Kids love the sky safari and the little train. Love that the staff always waves and is friendly to everyone especially our kids. Love being part of this awesome city and I'm so glad we have a beautiful zoo to enjoy.
The zoo is really big, I definitely recommend tackling it in bits. We have an annual pass and go several times a year.
The zoo is clean and kid friendly. I went with my nephews and sister in law. We had a great time. The polar bear, penguins and gorillas were the favorite of the day. This year I joined Friends of the Zoo and it has been worth it. Gets us all in plus discounts on food and at the gift shop. We enjoy the train, tram and sky lift as part of the yearly pass too.
