Great park with lots of open spaces to just walk around and relax. Also a great playground with lots of energy surrounding it.
Huge Park with basic offerings plus lots of history and a cool looking abandoned swimming pool.
Used to live across the street, Gillham park is great. Take your kids to the playground, skate the slabs, go for a run or just lounge around at the picnic tables. Great place to waste some time.
Parking can be tight for big events. Even if you play with the intention of keeping the ball away from the road, it's not difficult to see how a stray ball can veer into traffic. People bring their dogs to games as well, and that would stress me out during heavy traffic hours.
This park is beautifully maintained by the KCMO parks and recreation department. The north segment features a ball diamond and open areas for a variety of sporting activities. The south end includes a playground for kiddos and a wading fountain that always attracts plenty of local youngsters. Parking is available on 41st Street between the two sections of the park as well as along Kenwood Ave.
