Great park, too bad it's surrounded by terrible people. My parents went there and had their car window smashed in. Glancing around the parking lot 6 other cars also had their windows busted. Mothers purse was stolen among other things. Take caution if you go here. We've had friends also get Windows smashed in at this same park. Better off avoiding thugs and driving to a nicer place.
Ethnic Festival was very fun. Disabled has entrance closer to pavilion stage area with nice perminant ramp. Grounds are a little ruff, but manageable.
Some neat stuff to see. Just be careful which area you are in and act accordingly. Some areas are a little nicer than others.
One of my favorite parks in the entire KC metro. This is a beautiful place to drive through, and several family activities are available here throughout the year.
The play structure at this park is wonderful. There is a picnic covering. There is a johnny on the spot nearby. The part I photographed is right outside the zoo. The entire swope park is nice to explore, but make sure you lock your doors. Kansas City isn't that safe, but Swope park is very historic.
