Cool place. Could use an update on the disc golf course. They don't tell you on the map which place the pin is located. All they have to do is mark it with a colored tag. Not hard to make a big difference.
Great, extreamly hilly, lots of big old trees so lots of shade, fabulous place to get your walking exercise or play Frisbee. Likely to see deer or turkey, maybe even a fox, this place is surrounded by woods on the north & west sides, so their is lots of potential for wildlife. Can be dangerous to be here alone, so bring a friend or two.
This park is good but somewhat odd - I think its primary use is for disk golf, which, unfortunately, I don't play (looks fun). It seems like a lot of very enthusiastic golfers come here - the times I've been the parking near the playground (at the very top of the park) was at something of a premium, even though we were always the only family there to use it. The playground is basic, but good, and the spacious park shelter alongside it is unusually nice, with power outlets and a tiered roof that lets in more light than a typical shelter. That said, if you try to enjoy the rest of the park for its walking or city views you kinda feel like you're ... in the way?... of the golfers. If you want to avoid them, there's a short but flat little walking trail around the top area where the playground is, featuring a scenic stroll along... the backs of people's yards
I went to play disc golf with a few friends. This was a very beautiful park and course to play disc golf. There was excellent views of downtown Kansas City. The park was easy to navigate from basket to basket . I will definitely go back and play there again.
I really love this park, it does not offer great trails but it had the best view. I like the trees and the hills. I play the disc golf course and find it to add challenge and power to provide a fun diverse game. The park is normally clean, except for hole 7. This must have been a place to dump your trash in the past, because there is always stuff coming out of the ground on hole 7. Wear shoes!
