All of my books were set up for the summer. Which means I would be charged FULL RETAIL value as if they were NEW books when the time came that they were due if it was not corrected. I called the manager within 15 minutes to notify him I received notification this was processed incorrectly. He assured me it would be corrected by the next day.
I decided to rent my books from maple woods to save me time and money. The manager assisted me and processed two transactions to GUARANTEE that some of my books would be processed for the fall and some of them would be set up for the summer.
My experience was subpar, at it's best.
Order 100 level books when they released FA for use in bookstore. I get an email saying my books are in 1 week before classes are to start, perfect. Go to get books same day, books aren't there, told me "it's a broken system, we don't like it either. Probably be in today or tomorrow.". Okay, things happen, I understand that.
Major fail. It's a bookstore, put the emphasis on books not the overpriced treats and hoodies. Ridiculous.
No one calls me to update me on my account. No one has corrected a SIMPLE issue with my account.
They go on to say they'd call me when my books actually arrived. I asked if I could leave my number, they said they had it, I asked to verify it and was told "we've got it.".
This was supposed to be an easy and simple process and it has become a STRESSFUL and INFURIATING experience.
This is the first and ONLY time I will ever rent my books from the book store by walking in. From here on out I will just order online and if there is an error it's on me.
First day of my 8 week online courses. I have 5 chapters to read, 4 discussions to post and 3 quizzes...shocker here, all based on readings from the BOOK.
Here we are, 3 weeks later none of my rentals have been corrected. I have called multiple times to find out where my books stand. The manager has given me attitude stating that he would call me to prevent further calls and let me know I would not have any fees charged to my credit card when my books become due at the incorrect date.
