Great spot for beer! The selections were very good and they had something for everyone. It was nice to have a dog friendly venue as we were traveling from out of town with our pooch and leaving her in the car on a 90° day was totally out of the question. We also liked the fact that we could carry in our own lunch (which we got nearby at Arthur Bryant's) so it was the best of both worlds!
Three stars is good for me. Beers were good but mostly forgettable. Couple of interesting flavor combos (monk and honey, coffee wheat stout), but I didn't find anything that I felt like I had to take home. Small dark and cozy.
This was a hidden gem on a KC beertrip. Easily the best stop, ranked right up there with Boulevard. Great IPAs, and other beers. This is a must see.
This is by far my favorite Kansas City brewery. Even with some recent strong competition arriving in the local marketplace, these guys remain on top, cranking out a variety of innovative yet serious beers that one needed to travel quite a ways for not long ago. My hope is that Torn Label will serve as a foundation and motivational force to other craft beer artisans in the area, as the Kansas City beer scene finally develops a true craft community!
Cool spot "off the beaten path". The indoor taproom was dark with not too much seating but a view of their brewing facility. There is an outdoor area that is great for a nice day. This place got pretty busy on a Saturday afternoon and I understand why. The beers were very tasty and the atmosphere was relaxed. I tried the Monk & Honey which was good and when I return, I will get a flight because there were so many other beers I wanted to try.
