Also, through the years, I will never forget Connie and the other receptionist whose name I cannot come up with right now -- both always so ready to help us with any request or give us suggestions/help in making our visits and smooth as possible.
I'm writing in pain right now because my loss is so fresh, but I will never forget how well my sister was treated and respected at New Mark year after year.
They took great care of my mom when she was recovering from a hospital visit. They took better care of her than the hospital did!
My dad had a great experience here compared to another facility in the Northland. He was able to come home in a much shorter time because they took the therapy seriously. Highly recommended.
And of course the many CNAs over the years that my sister considered friends, and when I would come to visit, would always introduce us and then tell me all the things she liked about each one -- their sense of humor or sweetness or willingness to help her.
Today a beloved family member passed away today at New Mark, my sister Joan. She was a resident there for quite a while, maybe over seven years, and over those years I can count on one hand the times she complained to me about her care there. (Well, maybe a few times about the food being a little repetitious, but not often, and it may also have partially been due to her health condition and lack of appetite or taste.)
I used to work there. Great place. Good people.
But what I really want to point out (before I forget her name) is the excellent, attentive and loving care given to her today by a very precious CNA named Isabelle who watched over her for several hours today. There were of course a number of other lovely and dedicated nurses and CNAs involved today and I'm so grateful to them as well. And a hospice worker (oh how I wish I could remember everyone's names) who was a sensitive, beautiful angel, but I can't forget Isabelle's gentleness and protective, watchful eye over my sister. Especially during the hours when there were so many family members in the room, sometimes talking all at once.
This care center is the only one to use in the northland, perhaps in the greater kc area. While most of these facilities are on the verge of being shut down by state, and face lawsuits New Mark goes above and beyond. The care my mother received during her stay there was the best possible. The staff is well trained, and caring, the building is near perfect condition and home like. The pt and ot depts are great. Even the food is well prepared, tasty and with good selections. I can not say enough on how impressed I am with New Mark and the entire staff there. If you ever have need of a care center, I would suggest ignoring the other nasty places and look into New Mark. Thank you all, New Mark, for everything you do.
