MY TIME THAT I SPEND AT KINDRED. THE STAFF WAS GREAT. THE MENU WAS THE GREATNESS. THE ONLY THING THAT SEEN WHILE I WAS WHEN THEY KNOCK ON THE DOOR THEY ENTER WITHOUT WAIT ON TILL GIVE PERMISSION TO ENTER
She has since been demoted and we have a new kitchen manager now and this one is almost as bad as the last one. This manager gossips with employees about other employees making for a very hostile work environment. Anything you tell her in confidence will get out and be told to the person you were complaining about. Also I would like to mention that when it was brought to this current manager's attention that one of her employees wanted to assault another employee on their last day of work, instead of disciplining this person she said she wanted to be there to witness the assault. The employee that was threatened ended up quitting and the one that made the threat still works there.
She also fed patients food that she dropped on the floor. We had omelets one morning and she accidentally dropped the whole pan. I asked if she wanted me to get more out of the freezer and she said no and proceeded to use/serve the ones that fell on the floor.
If it was possible to rate this facility at a zero I would!!! If you care about your loved one DO NOT send them to this so called hospital. My grandfather was referred here after we were told he would get more one on one therapy to help him get stronger. That did not happen at all! We were even afraid to leave him there alone at night. It's a glorified nursing home that they call a hospital! Thank God we got him out of this facility after a week of horrible nursing & doctor care! The aids were the best and most helpful out of anyone.
And finally, this facility goes by the mantra 'never refuse a patient' when it comes to food. The problem with that is some of these patients are on restricted diets, so they can't have whatever they want whenever they want and in my opinion doesn't help them get any better as a result. Also had a problem with staff eating the snacks that were intended for the patients. I found myself stocking the refrigerators daily because the night shift felt like they could eat and drink whatever they wanted even though they weren't supposed to. Management did nothing about it.
I also felt like the CEO didn't care about our department and was often times rude.
I have been a caregiver for close to 13 years. We have been to all the LTACs in the Kansas City area. Even though we live south of the city, we chose to come to Kindred Northland and will continue to do so if necessary. This facility is clean - immaculate in fact! The people here are genuine and genuinely care about the patient's progress as well as the family supporting them. Every facility says that when the call light is on, anyone can and will answer it. Kindred Northland is THE ONLY facility where anyone from the cleaning crew to the dietary staff to the chief officers answer a call light. The patient does not have to wait for response. I have told every facility we've been to that they need to take lessons from Kindred Northland (including Kindred South). I cannot say enough about this group of incredible people. Thank you so much!
I worked in the Environmental Services Department for 8 months and it was the most unprofessional place that I have ever worked in. My supervisor was lazy and very unprofessional. I would never recommend this place for a place of unemployment or a place to take your loved one. The staff is rude and unprofessional and it starts with the CEO, management staff, and works it's way down. I saw and heard some things that should never go on at a hospital.
I will never return to this place for any reason. I do not recommend anyone work here and I personally would never send any of my family members here.
This place is a terrible place to work. The management sucks! And the pay is even worse. I worked as a dietary aide there for 3 years and finally quit my job yesterday. The things I've heard and seen happen should really get the place shut down. My former manager stole food from the kitchen on numerous occasions. We all knew it, but nobody wanted to say anything because she was our manager. She also asked me for $100 to feed her kids for Thanksgiving. She said she was depressed that they weren't going to have anything to eat. I stupidly believed her and gave her the money. And she told me not to tell anybody because I was the only one she trusted to ask. Turns out she also asked two of my other co-workers at the time, and a couple of people in housekeeping. I couldn't believe what a liar she was and still is. It's amazing she still even works there. I found out later from her that the money she was asking for wasn't even being spent on what she said it would be spent on. She was giving it all to her BD.
