Soho lofts are the best!
There are security cameras at the entrance and exit of the buildings. When I asked Katie White if they had viewed the tapes, her response to me was, "that would literally take a week, I'm not doing that." She also suggested that my own family and friends stole the property, as they were the ones helping me move.
Do Not Trust "Cindy"!!! No Courtesy for their own fault, Bad Customer Service, Rude to Tenants...Water turned off 10am-12pm EVERY WEEK!!
Had a horrible experience with this place. Never fixed our broken window over a two year span. Had AC break down for months multiple times and had quick fixes. Management is unorganized and not on the same page. They lost our move in check list and charged us for things that were problems when we moved in. Very unhappy with this company would not recommend.
The management team at KC Loft Central has no respect for their tenants, which was demonstrated throughout my entire time living at Soho West. For someone considering renting or buying from one of KC Loft Central's properties in downtown Kansas City, I would strongly advise against it.
When I contacted management about my stolen items, I was told to file a police report because, "they didn't do it, and they don't want to be responsible for this." The assistant manager, Katie White, as well as the general manager, Shelly Higerd, said that they had asked their employees and they couldn't accuse any of them for this. They also stated that they have no system in place to investigate theft.
The poor reviews on here reflect old management and maintenance from several years back. Soho Lofts is an awesome place to live. I really enjoy it. Classic building, great design, cool cafe downstairs. Really cool neighbors too. The place came under new management or ownership (not sure which) a few years back and things have dramatically turned around. If you're looking for a cool place to live in the middle of downtown, I highly recommend Soho.
I've lived here for only a few months so far and this is not the place for any real HUMAN BEING!! Trust me, there are way better places to live than this. The fat woman who works the front desk, "Cindy", is so rude and management is crap at this place. Upon signing my lease they fired the guy who told me that everything in my apt was perfectly fine and dandy...but now I see that was a LIE!! My apt is not in living condition and they said its not their fault...then Who's is it?? I can here water coming down the pipes in my apt every time somebody flushes their damn toilet or turns on their air condition... They refused to move me to another unit and tried to make me pay extra money to move to another unit because of something that was their fault! Their words to me was "You signed the lease so you have to deal with it!!" WTF?? So if you wanna live here, go ahead, it will be the WORSE mistake u make in your life!! TRUST THE TENANTS THAT ALREADY LIVE HERE!! And to add on, the water is always turned off every week between 10am-12pm because of their broken boiler in the building that they refuse to replace. MAKE SURE U HAVE A LAWYER BEFORE RENTING HERE!!! Think before you act people! P.S. Parking is HORRIBLE!!
I was tenant here for 1 year, and would absolutely never rent or do business with this company again. I was always on time with my rent and gave notice in compliance with the lease terms. When I went to retrieve the final items that were left in my apartment, since I still had possession of the unit, $700 worth of property was stolen out of my unit from someone with a key. The door was locked when I arrived, and my other items that were of no value to them were still there.
