I got a transfer of care to this ghetto hospital. Horrible bedside manner, rude and lascivious nurses who don't know the first thing about proper and respectful patient care or how to put the correct label on a urine sample, lazy and lax front desk sign in staff who joke play and eat and can't register or sign you in because they're too busy entertaining each other. I had an appointment at 1:45 which I arrived at 1:15 just to avoid any mishaps just to not get seen until nearly 4. My nurse was so unprofessional! She accidentally slipped up and said I didn't get signed in and they took too long to clean out a room for me to be seen thus being the reason it took and hour and a half for me to get called back she also went as far as to tell me that "we aren't holding you hostage, get a transfer of care" because I was upset and I had to kick her out of my room and speak to a supervisor about her remarks and behavior...STAY FAAAAAAR AWAY!
DO NOT come here for Prenatal or OB services.
HORRIBLE. if I could give zero stars, I would. Worst Doctor and Nurse ever. They have no business being in the medical field. My granddaughter was in labor and Dr. Paige Monnet was VERY rough with her. She wasn't bleeding when she went in, but she was when she went out. Dr. Monnet has no business being an OB. Her nurse, Jen was extremely rude, uncaring and exhibited completely unacceptable behavior. I complained and received a letter saying 'they didn't mean it'. Yeah, right. These two people forgot the class on compassion. If you're having a baby go to Truman Lakewood - they treat you like a real person and actually care.
Worst experience ever. i ended up more hurt when I left the ER than when I came in. I went in 3 weeks ago for an eye complication, I'm a single, 27 year old girl so I was pretty scared and worried... my mom was on her way 45 minutes away. I got the same nurse that I had a year or so before when I had a cyst rupture. The first time, she royally screwed up in putting my IV in, digging around my arm for a good 2 or 3 minutes before finding my vein. Pictures of those bruises are first. Then this time, I have just now been able to use my arms and hands normally, as she first tried my left arm, again missing the mark, and instead poking and digging into my nerves. When I screamed in pain because chilling, searing pain was shooting throughout my arm, she pushed the needle in further until I had to pull away from her. I was so pissed I refused the IV and she walked out and rudely told the dr that I was refusing my IV. When the doctor came in to tell me I had to have an IV for a cat scan, I let him know I wasn't refusing just to be a pain and why. He still sent her in again to do the IV in my right arm. Safe to say you guys probably know what happened next. Same thing in my right arm. I've had hopefully temporary the hospital said, nerve damage in both arms now for 3 weeks in my peripheral nerves and haven't been able to utilize or extend my arms without shooting searing pain throughout both. Pictures of the bruising the second go around are below as well. RUN FOR THE HILLS. Go to another hospital even if it's further. I would love to see how many malpractice cases this hospital would incur if their patients had the means to pursue them. The nurse I have spoken of, spent her night talking about other patients loudly outside of my room with other nurses and doctors, making fun of them for their problems, adding in details from her week long vacation in Vegas the prior week. Ridiculously unethical and insanely rude. I will never step foot in this hospital again.
Was sent here for food allergy testing and the doctors refused to do the test because my symptoms weren't severe enough. This was AFTER rescheduling me 3 times (the first 2 times I wasn't aware of until I showed up to my appointment and was informed that it had be rescheduled for 3 months down the road when I had already suffered while waiting 4 months to get in). The gentleman at the reception desk was very helpful and sympathetic, but the doctors were dreadful.
This is an awesome hospital with a great mission and staff. I’m a little biased because I worked there for ten years! I usually judge the worth of a firm by imagining the impact to the surrounding city if it suddenly disappeared. If Truman left the city, Kansas City would be irreparably damaged.
