Dang good food. I had the pork tacos and they were as spicy as our server had said. Lol. Not over of the top but enough to knock on the door and say hello. Lol. Try the jalapeño cheese!!! It was awesome!! Relaxed feel despite the location in town. We WILL be going back!!!
Great atmosphere and decor. Food is good. Minus one start for not having fresh jalapenos ( serve pickled ones) and ducking on appetizer size guacamole by putting a lot of lettuce on the bottom to make it "look " appetizer size. Bottom line, guacamole does not have lettuce in it.
The wait was long, but expected. We were told an hour for table of 3 and waited and hour and 20 minutes. I witnessed a party of 6 come in while we were waiting and asked how long the wait was. The guy was told it would be an hour. Within 5 minutes I saw a hostess talking to the other girls and heard what was going on. She counted out 6 menus, then the man came and flirted with the hostess asking them to touch his "bald" head. They sat his party immediately. We had been waiting over an hour when this happened. I asked the hostess why they sat him right away after they told him an hour not even 5 minutes before. She lied to my face and the manager did not care. There were large parties the same size who were waiting and in front of him. Once we got seated, it took 45 minutes to get food out. I counted three tables that sat empty the entire time we were there, even though there were still people waiting. The food was not very good. I have had this restaurant catered to work before and I loved it. This was my first time at the restaurant, and unfortunately we will not be back. The only redeeming quality was the waitress. She was very good, always had our drinks refilled, and very professional.
I was in Kansas City for a conference and this place was so good I ate there twice in one three-day weekend. Everything I had was great, so I can't really narrow it down because I got different things both times and the menu is huge. Portions are also huge, so come hungry and enjoy the colorful inside. It was conveniently located just down the street from where I was staying, so I didn't feel so bad for indulging because I was able to walk around afterward. Service is friendly and fast and even when it's busy the wait time isn't bad.
I found a new love! Sign me up for the half price apps at happy hour! I'll be looking for a Chuy's wherever I go!
