This place is pretty god damn amazing. The chicken is juicy, the flavor is fantastic, and it's wonderfully spicy. The fried okra is incredible. The Mac n cheese is creamy and delicious. The slaw cuts the spice perfectly.
I like fried chicken. I like baked chicken. I like some spicy food. The name says "World famous" and it's really close to my home. I'm not sure how they justified world famous, because there's other chicken places which are world famous that would cause me to drive right past Gus's. I was disappointed enough that I'm not inclined to try it again.
Wow, haven't had such great customer service like this in a long time! It's my first time ever trying food here, they packed my order wrong (left some items out) however they were quick to right the problem. I called to complain. The lady's apologized ( it was the sincerity in her apology that had me amazed) Just in her sincerity I know this restaurant truly cares about their customers. I picked up my items and she also included a Gift Card..... I never got her name, but just want to say Thank You. Your chicken is amazing! But had you not cared I would of never came back.
If you want fried chicken, this is one of the 3 best places in KC, easily.
3.5 Monkeys. Good chicken. Everything else was good enough but the chicken was fresh and cooked perfect. The service was great and the waiter personable.
This place is what I think Stroud's should be....delicously seasoned fried chicken. I also like the fact thag they only sell SPICY chicken so if you want mild you cant be at the right place.
