This was my first time in Kansas City and I really enjoyed myself. This area is really nice with LOTS of entertainment. It's also kid friendly. Didn't have to rent a car because they have a street car that is FREE that took is where we needed to go. Some of the waiters/waitresses feel entitled to tips when they were rude; other than that, I can't wait to return.
It can be a little overwhelming during the busy times. I prefer week nights or weekend days where you can enjoy the connected patios or a good happy hour. Love the different restaurants within KCPL - there’s something for everyone. Crowd usually gets super rowdy during the weekend - typical party bar type vibe. If you’re from out of town, it’s fun but here’s my tip: please don’t let this be the only place you visit! KC has so many unique pockets that are equally worth checking out.
The Power and Light District has something for everyone from restaurants to events there is always something new to do or try, one of the cleanest downtown areas in the country too. The attention to detail, cleanliness, and mixture of plant life is exceptional, I love taking walks here in summer, it is gorgeous. There are also plenty of activities for kids too.
Loved it... so many places to go I bet you will find something of your tasting... I visited during a stayed in Kansas City. I had tons of fun with my friends. Some bars are pretty inexpensive so if you on a budget no worries!!!
Tonight featured a free concert on their open air stage and was a fund raiser for The Salvation Army. It was standing room only under a large canopy with multiple heaters to keep the temperature moderate. There were plenty of food and drink venues surrounding the audience. I'm from Florida and just happened to stumble on this gem in the heart of the Power & Light District. Very enjoyable time! Recommended highly!!
What I love the most is how practical it is. Cosentino's grocery store located here along with the OneLife gym. The streetcar makes it simple to work out in the morning and grab a few items from grocery store before going home for the day. I love the simplicity and how KC is a "livable" city.
