Modern players could learn a lot from their predecessors.

Really needs updating and a deep cleaning. Wonderful subject matter, just very limited amount of exhibits and a lot of them are damaged/worn/dusty. Lovely area of town as well.

I went with the hubs because he is a huge baseball fan. Me? Not so much but I am very glad I went! This is a piece of history that everyone should learn about. There is a mock baseball diamond with life-sized bronze statues of players. Did you know there was a woman who played? I do now. Many video clips that explain the history of the Negro Leagues, baseballs signed by every player in the league, uniforms, equipment and much more. Go! I insist!

To visit only the baseball Museum, the price is $10 however, if you're interested in jazz you can get the Baseball/Jazz combo package for $15. Our visit lasted roughly two-hours. We did not have a tour guide however, we were able to easily find our way around the museum. The artifacts and videos were very interesting and entertaining. There is a museum gift shop connected to the exhibit. Although the place was a little crowded, there was plenty of room to walk around. Overall an enjoyable experience to learn about African-Americans during their baseball era.

One of the best experiences I have had. While not a baseball fan this should be a mandatory educational experience for young people today. The players played to the highest levels of Baseball, were very professional, served their country that hated them in one of the greatest wars of our time. They acquired themselves in such a way that the media and the American people clamored for better pay, treatment, and access for Negro league players.

Loved this place when we visited. Great for the whole family. There is wonderful history that should be preserved. Especially great for baseball lovers.
